Your images.
Our conversation.

From the first discussion to delivery, you’ll know what to prepare, what we’ll decide and what you’ll receive at each stage.

Cinema, commercials, live shows, television and documentaries. The process adapts to the scale of your production.

01The conversationIntention, timing and where the images will be seen

Tell me what you want the images to make people feel. We discuss references, running time, edit stage, deadline and viewing formats. A short project summary is enough to begin.

YOU RECEIVE

An initial discussion and a clear list of the information needed for a quote.

02The agreementScope and confidentiality

We define deliverables, schedule, revisions and who signs off. If the project includes on-set support, we also agree on preparation, dates, location and look and LUT deliverables. Before sensitive material is shared, we arrange access and formalize confidentiality between the parties.

YOU RECEIVE

A proposal and documents setting out the project’s terms.

03The preparationMaterial received and checked

Once the project is agreed, you receive instructions for the delivery channel. We check the edit, original media or agreed master, color information and references before we begin.

YOU RECEIVE

Confirmation of receipt, the results of our checks and any missing material.

04Creating the colorA pilot look. Then, shot by shot.

We begin with a representative selection of the film to establish its visual language. Once the direction is approved, we work through the film: skin, light, contrast, continuity and atmosphere.

YOU RECEIVE

A pilot look to align the direction, followed by clearly identified review versions.

05The approvalLive, through review versions or in the suite

Join a remote session, collect feedback on each version or arrange final approval in person. We consolidate the changes and record which version was approved.

YOU RECEIVE

The approved version and confirmation of the finishing specifications.

06The final screenFinishing, delivery and archiving

We prepare and check the masters in the agreed formats. We confirm receipt and agree how long original media, projects and final files will be retained.

YOU RECEIVE

Masters, a technical check record and agreed archiving terms.

How you follow the grade is a creative and practical choice. We can combine more than one approach throughout the project.

REMOTE SESSION / BLACKMAGIC REMOTE MONITOR

The same shot.
The same conversation.

Follow picture and sound on a compatible phone or tablet, on a computer, or on your studio’s monitors through Blackmagic output hardware. Blackmagic Remote Monitor connects the session to DaVinci Resolve as we discuss the look. We guide access and test the setup beforehand.

  • App guidance and access through a session code.
  • Display, sound and connection checked before we start.
  • Shared creation and decisions aligned with the team.
Include this preference in my brief

HDR color decisions require a suitable viewing chain. Where needed, we agree on an SDR reference for creative review and technical approval in a reference environment.

Trust is also
part of the image.

We agree on each production’s workflow before material is sent: who takes part, how the media arrives and how delivery is approved.

01 / BEFORE TRANSFER

Confidentiality between us.

We agree on confidentiality, the authorized team and the terms of use for the material. Sensitive references are shared after that agreement.

02 / DURING THE WORK

A defined channel.

For teams already editing in DaVinci Resolve, we can arrange a shared Blackmagic Cloud project with media sync and agreed permissions. We can also use a corporate Drive or your production’s environment, according to volume and confidentiality.

03 / AFTER DELIVERY

A clear closeout.

We define the delivered files, receipt, retention period and closure of access. Recording sessions or using material in a portfolio requires specific authorization from the production.

Transferring original media and following the grade live are separate stages. First we organize the material; then we configure monitoring for the session.

Let’s align on
the details.

How do I join a remote session?

We agree on a time and who will attend. You receive Blackmagic Remote Monitor instructions for your device, session access and the conversation channel. We test the connection and image before starting, so we can dedicate the session to your film.

Can I approve color remotely?

We can develop and review the look together remotely. Before approval, we align on the display, viewing environment and output format. Technical approval of HDR and Dolby Vision requires a compatible chain; when the project calls for it, we arrange this stage in the reference suite.

Can I watch on my studio’s monitors?

Yes, with a compatible setup. The computer receives the session and can send the picture to your monitor through a Blackmagic DeckLink or UltraStudio output. We check the app, hardware, format, audio and connection before the session, so your team can gather in its own working environment.

Can the editor also work in the shared project?

We can arrange this workflow for teams using DaVinci Resolve through Blackmagic Cloud project libraries. Project sharing and media sync are prepared together, with app versions, permissions and responsibilities agreed in advance. The setup is tailored to the production.

Can I send original media now?

Start with the brief. Once scope and confidentiality are agreed, we define the channel, authorized people and media organization. This page does not accept file uploads.

Do I need to attend every session?

You can join live, review versions or combine both. We align the color direction through the pilot look, then follow the agreed review milestones.

Do you also offer on-set support?

Yes, when the client and project need it. This stage is optional: we develop look and LUT previews with the cinematographer during filming, using DaVinci Resolve, a grading panel, iPad and monitoring. Preparation, dates, location, setup and deliverables are defined in the proposal to suit the camera and production workflow.

What does finishing include?

The focus is color, shot continuity and masters in the agreed formats. Conform, editing, effects, sound and other services are itemized in the proposal, with scope and responsibilities clearly defined.

How do we agree on pricing and revisions?

We consider running time, the number and condition of shots, conform, grading complexity, deliverable versions and schedule. The proposal sets out the number of revisions and how scope changes are handled.

Can final approval happen in person?

Yes. We can work remotely and arrange final approval in person, depending on the project and availability.
