Color correction and look development, in one conversation.
Color correction brings exposure, balance and shot continuity into alignment. Color grading develops the visual language: contrast, palette, texture and atmosphere. We approach both together, guided by the footage, your references and the intended release.
Room for the cinematographer's vision.
The director of photography — DP, DOP or DoP — brings choices of light, lenses and exposure into the grade. Understanding that vision is my starting point. We select representative shots, explore a pilot look and agree on the direction before moving through the film. The aim is cohesion while preserving the differences that make each scene meaningful.
From the first reference to the master.
I work with DaVinci Resolve Studio, Blackmagic Design color panels, and Sony BVM-HX3110 and ASUS ProArt monitoring. The setup follows the agreed delivery. SDR, HDR and Dolby Vision have different specifications and review requirements; we establish them before work begins.
